2022 GMC Yukon
The popular GMC Yukon has been completely redone for the 2022 model year, generating excitement for SUV lovers. These exciting changes include a brand-new diesel engine, a new and improved redesigned interior, and a longer wheelbase to improve the ride quality. Here's what people are talking about regarding the 2022 GMC Yukon.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 GMC Yukon has four trim offerings available: SLE, SLT, off-road AT4, and Denali. With the base SLE, you find black assist steps, 18-inch wheels, acoustic laminated and deep-tinted glass, as well as LED taillights, fog lights, and headlights. Upgrading to the SLT gives you 20-inch wheels and adds bright chrome bodyside moldings and a hands-free power liftgate. Meanwhile, the AT4 adds black roof-mounted side rails and auto-dimming body-color heated exterior mirrors. The luxurious Denali upgrades the wheels to upscale 20-inch multi-dimensional polished aluminum wheels.
Engine (Power)
For the 2022 model year, the GMC Yukon has three engine offerings. First up is the popular 5.3-liter V-8 paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission producing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Next up is the 6.2-liter V-8, available only for the Denali, making 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. A third engine will be released during the model year as an available 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, garnering 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Performance is a significant deciding factor when purchasing an SUV, and the 2022 GMC Yukon is up for the challenge. You get four-wheel anti-lock brakes with automatic emergency braking to give you the stopping power you need. The electronic precision steering makes it easy to keep control, while hill start assist helps you get going on the steepest of inclines. Opt for the Premium Smooth ride suspension system for a completely smooth ride. The maximum towing capacity of 8400 pounds gives you plenty of power to tow that camper or haul your toys on your next adventure.
Interior
Form and function greet you when you slide behind the wheel of the 2022 GMC Yukon. Eight-person seating, keyless entry and ignition, and a 10.2-inch touch screen with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard features you get with the base SLE. Opting for the SLT adds features like leather upholstery, a wireless charging pad, an upgraded nine-speaker Bose audio system, and heated and ventilated front seats.
The off-road-ready AT4 gives you driver-seat memory, a heated steering wheel, heated outboard second-row seats, and power-folding third-row seats. The top-of-the-line Denali trim includes additional standard features like a premium 14-speaker premium Bose audio system and navigation system.
Safety Features
Being safe on the road is more important than anything else, and to that end, GMC has many safety features and driver assistance features. Standard features throughout the line are forward collision mitigation and an advanced air bag system. Optional features for all trims include a blind-spot monitor with a rear cross-traffic alert and lane departure warning. With the SLT, you can opt for an available surround-view camera, while a head-up display is an option for the AT4 and Denali. Finally, the Denali offers adaptive cruise control and a digital rearview mirror.
